Neurokinetic therapy is a cutting-edge, evidence-based approach to treating pain and dysfunction. It is based on the principle that the nervous system controls movement, and that by retraining the nervous system, we can improve movement patterns and reduce pain.
NKT is a systematic approach to assessing and correcting faulty motor patterns held in the body by the brain. Unlike other techniques which address the "hardware" of the body, NKT provides the practitioner with insight on what is happening with the "software" of the body.
NeuroKinetic Therapy is based on the premise that when an injury has occurred, certain muscles shut down or become inhibited, forcing other muscles to become overworked. This compensation pattern can create pain or tightness.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is an evidence-based approach to the diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal injuries. At Element Pilates, we emphasize a holistic, full body approach to care. Our goal is to not only diagnose your specific injury (or injuries) but to also find the root cause so we help you recover now and prevent future imbalances from arising.

Reflexology

Reflexology is an art and science based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears. The feet, hands and ears are microcosm of the body, reflecting the entire body; all the organs and glands. By applying pressure with specific thumb and finger techniques, reflexology will reduce tension, promote relaxation, increase circulation and bring body back to balance/homeostasis.

Deniece first fell in love with Pilates in her early 20’s a while she was at University studying Aviation. The mind-body connection that Pilates brings, allowed her to re-centre after stressful days of flying. After practising Pilates for 10 years, Deniece decided to obtain her certification for Mat and Reformer Pilates instructing through Breathe Education. Since then, she has also started the process to become a Balanced Body certified instructor and has undertaken training in the Tower, Chair and Barrel.

Deniece believes that Pilates is for everyone, regardless of age, gender, etc. and cannot wait to help empower others through movement. Originally from Perth, Australia, Deniece now calls Squamish home

Hi, I’m Monika - a passionate Pilates instructor with a Master’s Degree from Academy of Physical Education in Krakow, Poland. I’ve been in the fitness industry since 2003 and teaching Pilates since 2007, after completing the full repertoire through Balanced Body University in Dublin. In 2015, I began my journey into Classical Pilates and, in 2024, proudly completed the prestigious Master Program with The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado - often referred to as the “Harvard of Pilates.” I also completed various Anatomy Trains certificates to deepen my understanding of fascia, movement, and body integration. Since moving to Canada in 2015, I’ve worked with a diverse range of clients - from Olympic athletes to post-rehab - always with a focus on intelligent, safe, and empowering movement. I believe Pilates is a powerful tool for transformation, healing, and lifelong vitality. My favourite quote? “Change happens through movement, and movement heals.” - Joseph Pilates. When I’m not in the studio, I’m out enjoying outdoor adventures with my two dogs - Misiu and Osito, and you’ll often find me mountain biking, dirt biking, or engrossed in a self development book, or diving into the latest research in movement science.
